Sampletank 4cs1/22/2024 You can expand on your ST4 edition’s core instruments by purchasing additional collections in a variety of categories and genres. I worked with the flagship SampleTank 4 MAX edition. All editions work as plug-ins or in a standalone player that’s handy for fast inspiration or live gigs. The paid versions are SampleTank 4 SE ($150), SampleTank 4 ($300), and SampleTank 4 MAX ($500). It features 50 instruments adding up to 4GB. You can even get into the world of ST4 for free with the recently released SampleTank 4 CS. ST4 is available in four editions, differentiated only by the included library size and pricing. It delivers a formidable collection of high-quality instruments and loops comprising pro samples processed through a versatile synth engine and top-notch effects, rounded out with a full complement of mixing and performance controls. SampleTank 4 is a 16-part multitimbral sound/groove workstation for the Mac and PC that improves on a respected legacy. Hope this helps. Can a virtual warehouse full of instruments maintain quality along with quantity? Even the free version? Of all of the above plugins, the ones I use most often are the Korg programs and Little Pump Reeds. Reed instruments are the main historical companions for the HG over the centuries, especially musettes and other smaller free-reed pipe instruments. My main instrument these days is the hurdy gurdy. The first instrument I played was accordion for almost 15 years before expanding my horizons and taking up several other instruments. Format for these instruments are for Kontakt. Sonokintetic Accordion is probably the best value accordion plugin available at 50 euros. The most in depth collection is probably Eduardo Tarilonte’s Accordions 2 by Bigfish Audio but it is expensive - about $200. It is my all time favorite go-to when I want something more unusual sounding and at $29 hard to beat. I have a few other products from other companies - like Boulder Sounds - which have some rather eclectic choices, but one of my all time favorites is Little Pump Reeds by Soundiron. I also have a Korg bundle with Triton and Triton Extreme as well as my still in daily use Korg Triton Rack and all of these have some great instruments in this category. As others have commented, Sample Tank has several free-reed aerophone type instruments available.
